BedHead Bracket

Screen Shot 2018-04-05 at 9.29.47 AM.pngThe BedHead Bracket Contest was created as an extension of our #IAMUP Daybreak Morning People Campaign.  The idea stemmed from the creative minds of Matt Bull and Matt Christensen when we tasked them with coming up with various extensions to help expand the #IAMUP campaign into the community.  The idea was great, execution took weeks! I collaborated with our social media manager on how best to create the bracket.  The first year we used Facebook as our platform but found ourselves spending too much time counting comments.  The next year we used facebook for entries and Woobox as the actual bracket platform.  While there were a few kinks, it was an easier way to count votes and keep track of who came out on top.

As an added bonus, our sales department was able to provide their client North Texas GMC dealers with a March Madness tie in and generated revenue for the station.  The client received sponsorship in the form of digital banners and on air spots.  We also created T-shirts and basketballs with their logo. At the end of the contest, the winners and participants were invited to join the Daybreak team for party on the plaza. It was a win win for Daybreak, the viewers and our client.
